Lincoln - There could be a second Lincoln Castle that was built in around 1100 AD, archaeologists have revealed. Thorngate Castle is thought to have been located beneath Lincoln bus station. Archaeologist Naomi Field, who is working on the dig, told the BBC: "Really only because of the name and we know that the castle is referred to as Thorngate Castle and that this area was known as Thorngate. "It's quite possible that this was quite an early castle. "We know that there's only one reference in the 12th century and it may have been built of timber." Allen Archaeology, behind the excavation, has made a number of other fascinating discoveries ranging from the walls of an old brewery to evidence of a medieval dumping ground.
JAPON – 
Yokosuka - After three years of archaeological research, the remains of fortifications in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, are yielding a wealth of information about the defense system set up for Tokyo during the Meiji era (1868-1912). The Kanagawa Archaeology Foundation (KAF) has conducted the first archaeological research on a bastion that was constructed during the era to defend Tokyo Bay and was later blown up during military exercises. The project has clarified a number of points, such as how the bastion was constructed as well as its structure.

FRANCE – 
Appoigny - Un an et demi après le début du chantier, les fouilles se terminent cette semaine sur ce qui sera le parc d'activités d'Appoigny. Ving-six hectares ont été analysés pendant deux sessions de six mois. Ils nous renseignent sur l'évolution historique de cette région importante de la vallée de l'Yonne. Le site se trouve le long de la Nationale 6 qui relie Sens à Auxerre. Lames en silex préhistoriques, fondations d'habitations de toutes époques, les découvertes ont été nombreuses. L'époque gallo-romaine est bien représentée, avec une idée précise de ceux qui ont vécu sur ce site.
FRANCE – 
Poissy - Dans le cadre d’une fouille préventive, les archéologues ont mis au jour, sur ce site qui accueillait au XIIIe et XIXe siècles le marché aux bestiaux, des objets correspondant à quatre phases d’occupations anciennes, allant de la protohistoire (10 000 avant Jésus-Christ), jusqu’au XIXe siècle. Plusieurs bâtiments ont été exhumés, ainsi que divers objets dont un fragment de fibule (attache de manteau) daté entre le Ier siècle av. JC et le Ier siècle après Jésus-Christ, de la céramique caractéristique des productions locales, ou encore un méreau (pièce métallique) datant de la fin du XIIIe siècle. A la suite de ce diagnostic, le service régional d’archéologie a rendu une prescription autorisant la suite des fouilles pour une durée estimée à 3-4 mois. Déjà, en novembre 2015, une fondation de 5 m de largeur, antérieure au XIVesiècle, probablement une tour ou une enceinte, avait été exhumée à côté du chantier actuel, rue du 11-Novembre.
